ATL Technology Hires Director of Surgical Procedures Business Unit
Jared Coffeen brings over 20 years of engineering leadership in the development of surgical devices.
ATL Technology (“ATL”) is a partner to the top medical device OEMs in the design, development, and manufacture of single-use medical devices. Using its engineer-to-engineer approach, the organization partners closely with customers from design concept through production ramp-up into full-scale manufacturing.
In order to align capabilities and expertise, ATL is organized into three business units: Imaging and Access, Diagnostics and Patient Monitoring, and Surgical Procedures. After this organizational change, there were clear internal candidates for the first two business units that had the subject matter expertise and leadership acumen with Mike Anderson at the proverbial helm of Imaging & Access and Brandon Tillman driving strategy for Diagnostics and Patient Monitoring.
ATL looked to bring in external talent to lead the Surgical Procedures business unit, which encompasses electrophysiology mapping and ablation devices, electrosurgical handheld devices, and robotic surgical devices. The organization took its time carefully screening candidates to find the right fit that could bring technical knowledge, innovation, and market expertise to the Surgical Procedures business to drive ATL’s growth in the market, which is exactly what they found in Jared Coffeen.
For ATL’s customers, filling this final Director role brings the business unit strategy to fruition which will allow for specialization in project teams, targeted development and manufacturing strategy within each unit, and specific training and expertise to be developed in support of customer product and application requirements.
“We have been positioning these business units for success within ATL to support our vision for growth with leaders who can anticipate our customer’s needs. Jared’s problem-solving mindset and voice of the customer that he brings to the table will provide strategic direction to the team on the way to being a recognized leader in the development of single-use intelligent medical devices,” says Zane Daggett, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Before coming to ATL Technology, Jared worked for Stryker for 22 years where he led new product development in orthopedic surgery, interventional radiology, and general surgery, including discovering and analyzing areas of opportunity and developing solutions.
Says Jared of his new role, “I am looking forward to leading the growth of the Surgical Procedures Business Unit for ATL. I’m most interested in ideation and new business development. My strengths lie in seeing new areas of need and opportunity and developing clever ways of addressing those opportunities.”
